A full refurbishment and top-floor extension of a 4-bedroom apartment in the heart of Chelsea. The project involved the complete reconstruction of the existing roof to create a rear mansard, raising the gable walls, and extending the third-floor accommodation. All timber windows on the third floor were replaced with new double-glazed units.
The internal renovation was complemented by a fresh interior design scheme, while the thermal efficiency of the flat was upgraded to meet contemporary standards, ensuring a comfortable and sustainable living environment.
This project required close collaboration with the client on the design and involved navigating complex challenges such as negotiating with neighbours, and overcoming site constraints. From obtaining the necessary licenses and party wall agreements to demolishing the top floor and rebuilding the roof and roof terrace extension, every aspect was carefully managed, including bespoke joinery and the project’s progression from pre-construction to completion
