PORRO DESIGN FOR THE ITALIAN EMBASSY

PORRO FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS RENOVATION PROJECT OF THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN LONDON

July 24, 2025

The second and third floors of the historic 1868 building at 4 Grosvenor Square – the official residence of Ambassador Inigo Lambertini and his family – have undergone a meticulous transformation led by Nick Vinson of the studio Vinson&Co, in collaboration with Fiona Lamb and the team at Avanti Architects, who oversaw the technical and regulatory aspects of the project.

At the heart of the intervention is Porro’s Storage system of wardrobes and walk-in closets, designed by Lissoni & Partners + CRS Porro. In the Ambassador’s dressing room, the refined Storage hinged-door wardrobe with Iron transparent glass doors and an Iron frame was chosen to establish a subtle dialogue with the original 1930s cabinetry, carefully restored.

For the Ambassador’s wife’s dressing room, an L-shaped Storage composition featuring a cuvée metal structure and white cherry interiors was selected, paired with the Acquario central chest of drawers, lending a sense of harmony and balance to the space.

The Offshore bedside table by Piero Lissoni, crafted in solid natural hemlock, brings a serene and sophisticated atmosphere to the Ambassador’s bedroom, the magenta Presidential Suite, and the brown Guest Suite.

Meanwhile, the Origata console by Nao Tamura – in a striking rosso cina lacquer – adds a refined accent to the dining room.
